The 22nd Hong Kong Asian Open Kendo Championships

The Kendo Association of Hong Kong, China is pleased to announce that the 22nd Hong Kong Asian Open Kendo Championships will be held from 27^th - 29^th March 2026, at the To Kwa Wan Sports Centre.

27th March 2026 (Friday)
1-5 Dan Kendo Examination

28th March 2026 (Saturday)
Men's Individual (18 years or older, 0-2 Dan, 3-4 Dan, and 5 Dan or above),
Women's Individual (18 years or older, 0-3 Dan and 4 Dan or above),
Senior Individual (58 years or older, mixed gender, 3 Dan or above)

29th March 2026 (Sunday)
Men’s 5-members Team Event (18 years or older,No Dan restrictions)
Women’s 3-members Team Event (18 years or older, No Dan restrictions)

Examination :

For Dan Examination participants, please be reminded that a Dan Examination Seminar has been arranged on 27^th March (Friday) from 9:00am – 12:00nn (registration from 8:00am-9:00am) at the To Kwa Wan Sports Centre, which will be conducted by Tanaka Hiroaki sensei (Hanshi 8 Dan) and Imazato Manabu sensei (Kyoshi 8 Dan).

The registration time for the Dan Examination is 1:00pm – 1:45pm. Applicants will be disqualified (without refund) from Dan examination on the day if they fail to register before 1:45pm on 27^th March, 2026.

Due to adjustments in requirements, the reporting time for helper on that day has been changed. Some helpers have been notified to report at 8:00 am, while others will report at 13:00 pm. The time on the website or schedule for that day has not been updated in real-time. Thank you for your understanding.

Competition:

The rundown and draw of the championships will be uploaded to our website and will be updated from time to time. Please check our website and Facebook for the latest information.

Please also remind your team members to complete and return the disclaimer form if they have not already done so.

Helpers reporting time

28^th March(Saturday) 07:00-07:15am

29^th March(Sunday) 07:00-07:15am

Lunch will be provided for Helpers.

Referees Dress Code

Blue Suit Jacket, White Shirt with Grey Pants, Blue Socks, and Red Necktie \

If you are both refereeing and participating in the competition, you can wear Kendogi and Kendo Hakama

Referee Meeting time

28^th March (Saturday): 8:30am

29^th March (Sunday): 8:30am

Please have the referee (Shinpan) report 15 minutes early before the meeting

Lunch will be provided to all referees.

Keiko

After the closing ceremony, if there is time available, the venue will be used for Keiko. But if insufficient time, Keiko will be cancelled. Please decide for yourself whether to bring kendo equipment.
