The 18th Hong Kong Open Novice Kendo Championships and The 15th Hong Kong Open Junior Kendo Championships

The Association  announce that the 18th Hong Kong Open Novice Kendo Championships and the 15th Hong Kong Open Junior Kendo Championships will be held on 11^th  January 2026 at the Hang Hau Sports Centre.

The Association invites Matsuda Isato sensei (Hanshi 8 Dan) to be Head of Referees (Shinpancho).

Due to the different competition format compared to last year, please carefully review the competition regulations registration form (Participants, Referees(Shinpan) and Helper) in the email to understand the competition details, costs, and other relevant information.

Date: 11th Jan 2026 (Sunday)

Time: 9:00am -18:00pm

Venue: Main Arena, Hang Hau Sports Centre

The organizer would like each Kendo Club/Dojo to assist in recruiting TWO or more helpers.

Helper Reporting Time: 7:30am

The organizer would like to recruit 3 Dan or above Kendo practitioners to be referee(Shinpan).

Requirement:

1. 3 Dan or above

2. REGISTERED COACHES and

3. Attends Referee Seminar in the past year 

Please kindly noted that the organizers will prioritize arranging Kendo senseis/practitioners who meet the following criteria to serve as referees.

(On the day) Referee Briefing Time:0830

Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to the venue.

Referee Dress Code: Kendo Gi and Kendo Hakama

 Each Dojo submit one form and their formation. It is important to note that all registration forms must be submitted through your dojo representative.

Registration Deadline: 30th Dec 2025 (Tuesday) at 5pm
