The Association are pleased to invite Sumi Masatake sensei (Hanshi 8 Dan) to host (2nd Time) the 8th Hong Kong, China Kendo Coach License Examination

Date: 1st June (Sun)
Location: Queen Elizabeth Stadium (TBC)
Time: 08:30-12:30(TBC)
Coach Examination Target: Participants with 2 Dan or above in Kendo. Must be members of the HKKA or its affiliated dojos or with consent from President of HKKA.
Application fee (applicable to renewal and new license) includes certificate fee:
2Dan – 3Dan (Elementary) HKD500.00
4Dan – 5Dan (Intermediate) HKD800.00
6Dan and above (Advanced) HKD1,000.00
Please fill in the attached application form and return to HKKA, examinees are required to submit the application form together with the copy of present dan certificate and/or coach certificate if applicable.
All applicants please bring bogu and bokutou.
20250502 Update Announcement:
1.Renewal applicants if absent from Kiyono Shinobu sensei seminar either on 18th,19th or 20th Apr 2025 must attend Sumi Masatake sensei seminar on 31st May 2025 (Sat).
2.All new applicants must attend Sumi Masatake sensei seminar on 31st May 2025 (Sat).
3.HKKA will arrange a half-day first aid course for coach certificate applicant including renewal and date to be confirmed; in case the applicant is unable to attend, the applicant will then be required to apply, complete the first aid course (named “Introduction to First Aid Course” organized by Hong Kong St. John Ambulance) by themselves and submit relevant proof or certificate. All coach certificate applicant including renewal must complete the first aid course, to be entitled to receiving the Coach certificate issued by the Association. Only holders of the valid Coach certificate will be invited by the Association to coach in all the Kendo classes organized by the Association. This coach certificate will be valid for 3 years (from 27th April 2025 to 26th April 2028). After obtaining the coaching qualification, candidates must attend 12 to 15 local kendo seminars within the three-year validity period of the coaching license.
Deadline of Application: on or before 20th May 2025 (Tue), 5:00pm;
Note: All new and existing coach license holders are required to return the application form to HKKA for the coach examination. Any changes will be notified as soon as possible. Please pay attention to the HKKA's website and email.
Those who are interested in the seminar MUST register through dojo representatives.
All applications will be subject to the final decision of the Executive Committee of HKKA.
